Hyder, Eugene

Gene Hyder has spent the last forty-two years photographing PRCA rodeos. In years past, Hyder has taken many photos of contestants (back in the days when he only took black and white photos and sold them for $2 each.) He now finds himself in rodeo arenas taking photos of many of those contestants’ sons and daughters who are now rodeo          contestants themselves. Based mostly in California, Hyder has been chosen to photograph the RAM California Circuit Finals Rodeo numerous times. Hyder won the prestigious PRCA Photographer of the Year award in 2007. “I am very fortunate to know so many wonderful people in the rodeo community.”
